A new credit card is being launched by the AA, offering loyalty points to customers who spend money on motor products .
The plastic comes with zero per cent interest on purchases on car-related items for the first 12 months and gives reward points for both motoring and non-motoring spend.
The automotive company believes that Brits have a love affair with collecting tokens and points in order to get rewards and it hopes that the credit card will tap into that mindset.
Statistics from the firm show that 49 per cent of its customers have collected coins, tokens and stamps at some point in their lives.
Mark Huggins, director of AA Financial Services, said: "Our research clearly shows that collecting rewards is popular amongst consumers and this new card offers a way of helping to ease the burden of motoring costs ."
Capital One recently unveiled a credit card which rewards customers with bad credit histories who make timely payments a reduction in interest rate .
