American Express has today (December 2nd) introduced a credit card that offers customers discount vouchers and gift coupons when they spend money on plastic.
The Express Rewards Credit Card comes with zero per cent interest on purchases for the first six months and 17.9 per cent APR thereafter.
It allows consumers to get three reward points for every £1 spent in UK supermarkets, two points for every £1 spent in department stores and one point for any other purchases of the same amount.
Rewards can be claimed once 5,000 points are reached, the equivalent of £25.
Katrina Cliffe, head of consumer cards at American Express, said: "As much of the UK's shopping bill is spent in supermarkets and major stores, we've aligned with some of the UK's major retailers to bring richer rewards for people's everyday spending."
The AA recently launched a new credit card that offers loyalty points to customers who spend money on motor products.
