Consumers looking for a credit card which rewards holders for spending have been advised to seek out the American Express Platinum Cash Back product.
Writing for This Is Money, Helen Kanolik, independent financial adviser with Poole-based PFM Associates, said that the credit card offers five per cent cash back for the first £3,500 spent, although the figure is reduced above this level.
An income of £30,000 is needed to apply for the credit card .
Ms Hanolik also recommended the Barclaycard One Plus option, which has no restrictions on income.
"This offers 0.5 per cent on spending of up to £6,000 per month and five per cent on spending on public transport in London," she added.
Online bank Egg recently announced the launch of its new Egg Money Mastercard product, which allows customers to receive an interest rate of 8.9 per cent as well as one per cent cash back on all purchases up to £200 per year.
