A new credit card deal has been launched by Saga Personal Finance offering a reduced annual percentage rate (APR) with zero per cent on purchases for the first nine months.
The Saga Platinum credit card now comes with an 11.9 per cent interest rate, down from 15.9 per cent, for both new and existing customers.
Repayments on the card are also ordered fairly, with the most expensive debt being cleared first, unlike the majority of credit cards available in the UK, and Saga does not impose a foreign usage charge for European transactions.
Andrew Goodsell, chief executive of the Saga Group, said: "It is more important than ever that people take a good look at their finances . We are playing our part as, unlike many other providers, we are significantly reducing the interest rate on our credit card."
Moneyfacts.co.uk has warned of the charges credit card customers may face when they use their cards abroad, with some providers charging as much as 2.99 per cent per transaction.
