Zero per cent balance transfers are still the most attractive feature of a credit card, it has been claimed.
Research by Fair Investment Company has found that 21 per cent of people consider such an offer to be the most important feature of a credit card.
A competitive rate and no annual fee are the second most vital aspects of a card, with each receiving 18 per cent of the vote.
Matt Edwards, head of credit cards at Fairinvestment.co.uk, said: "It is good to see that consumers are trying to get as much as they can from their credit card providers .
"It is also reassuring to see that consumers are taking the credit crisis seriously and choosing their credit card deal accordingly."
However, people seem to be opting away from charity credit cards, perhaps as they have realised there are better ways to donate, he added.
Earlier this week, American Express launched a new rewards credit card which offers consumers the chance to earn a discount on travel-related products.
