Keen travellers might want to look at the latest credit card from American Express .
The provider has announced it has launched a new reward credit card, which offers people the chance of earning discounts on travel-related purchases.
Anyone using the credit card will receive one point for "virtually every" pound spent, when a customer has 4,000 points, they will be given a £50 saving against purchase on things such as flights, hotel bookings and car rental .
Tom Allder, vice-president UK credit cards for the firm, said: "Our strategy is to reward card members on an on-going basis for their spending with us.
"We are continually looking for innovative ways to reward our card members."
The credit card will also offer limited insurance for events such as flight delays or lost luggage .
Last week, Apacs, the UK payments association, warned people who are travelling abroad should make sure that they have a 24-hour contact number for their credit card provider in case they lose their credit card.
