People are not cutting back their holiday spending because of the economic downturn, one credit card company has claimed.
According to research by the Co-operative Bank Credit Cards, 53 per cent of people have no plans to rein in their vacation outlay.
It also found that 77 per cent of people plan to put at least some of their holiday spending on a credit card .
Maxine Xodo, product manager for the bank, said: "As more people are putting holiday spending on their credit cards, it pays to make sure they are getting the best deal for their needs."
People should ensure that they get a card that offers them a range of benefits, possibly including travel insurance, she added.
Yesterday, research by Moneysupermarket.com revealed that 31 per cent of credit card holders have had the APR on their plastic increased in the last year.
According to the firm, credit card companies should "play fairer with customers".
