The winners of the 2008 Card Awards have been announced.
Aimed at recognising various achievements of credit card issuers a number of banks and providers walked away with a trophy after the latest ceremony.
Lloyds TSB's Duo Airmiles card netted the Best New Credit Card Product of the Year award, while Thomas Cook Personal Finance bagged the Best Credit Card Design of the Year prize.
Other winners included Capital One, with its cashback card being dubbed Best Credit Card Benefits Programme of the Year, and Nationwide was awarded the prize for Most Responsible Credit Card Lending Practices.
Commenting on its victory Jeremy Wood, Nationwide's director of consumer finance, said: "We have long since championed responsible lending across all of our products and we are especially proud to have been recognised for our efforts in the credit card market."
On Wednesday, Nationwide was praised by moneysupermarket.com for allowing credit card users to pay of their most expensive part of their debt first, something that it said was not common practice in the industry.
