Following the launch of Abbey's new Zero credit card, one expert has suggested that it may prove beneficial for UK holidaymakers.
According to Abbey, the new credit card does not feature a balance transfer fee or foreign exchange charge.
Commenting on the launch, a spokesperson for MoneyExpert.com said that the credit card could be a "valuable addition" for those planning to make purchases while on holiday .
"The interest free credit on purchases will also mean you can stave off the interest bills from your holiday until Christmas if you splash out while on holiday," they remarked.
However, the firm noted that credit cards offered by Capital One and Norwich and Peterborough feature matching six months interest free balance transfers with no charge deals.
Abbey chose to bring its credit card business "back in house" in 2007, with the Zero card representing its second "major innovation" since doing so.
