An increasing number of credit card customers are looking to the internet to secure the best credit card deal, new figures show.
New research by Global Reviews has found that 64 per cent of people applying for a credit card prefer to do so online.
It also found that 68 per cent of customers want to be able to manage their cards online .
Global Reviews director, Adam Goodvach, said: "As household budgets tighten across the UK, many credit card customers will start to notice the rates they have been paying on their credit cards and begin to look around for better deals."
He added that credit card providers looking to attract such customers must make sure that there websites are up-to-date and contain the information that consumers are looking for.
Last week, Steve Willey, head of credit cards at Moneysupermarket.com, claimed that more people than ever before are using cards as an alternative to personal loans .
