For anyone looking to take out a credit card, an expert has advised that charity credit cards are an effective way to raise awareness for a good cause.
The PDSA, a charity helping pets in need of vets, states that consumers who take out the PDSA visa credit card can feel safe in the knowledge that some of the money spent on the credit card will go back into the charity.
A spokesperson for PDSA John Cole states that the interest rates are competitive with high street brands.
"The key difference is that it's a branded credit card and a proportion of the money is getting put back into PDSA's funds," he comments.
Mr Cole adds that awareness is very important for charities as it can help attract more supporters and "will help the people in need".
The PDSA is a UK veterinary charity that receives £25 every time one of the credit cards is opened, plus 0.25 per cent of everything spent using the credit card .
Credit card holders can also choose two different card designs featuring domestic animals.
