A new football league table has been created to show which clubs offer supporters the best value for money, credit card customers may be interested to know.
The Goals per Pound Legal Table from financing website The Motley Fool takes into account the average cost of a season ticket and the number of goals scored at home in the Premiership to work out who offers the most goals for the lowest price.
And Blackburn Rovers, with a record of £11.25 per goal apparently offer the best value around, followed by Wigan Athletic with the equivalent of £13.88 spent every time the net bulges.
At the other end, meanwhile, Manchester City have the worst ratio around with the average supporter shelling out £46.75 for each goal scored.
"Football fans pay extortionate amounts to follow their team these days - far more than our European neighbours," remarked David Kuo, head of personal finance at The Motley Fool.
"This league exposes the real value fans are getting from their clubs."
May fans may have to resort to credit cards to make ends meet.
Earlier this month, financial services provider Capital One launched the Platinum Cashback Card, which features lending rates of 15.9 per cent.
