With degree courses up and down the UK currently coming to a close, a financing expert has taken the opportunity to offer some credit card advice to hard-up students who are preparing to leave university.
Among the banking tips offered by Andrew Hagger, head of press at Moneyfacts.co.uk, it is suggested that new graduates would benefit from writing out a monthly budget for post-university life.
Specifically, this budget should compare all income and outgoings to enable banking customers to consider ways of making repayments "as soon as possible", he said.
Next, he has recommended that students should consider arranging 0% credit cards to spread their debt burden.
"Once you have found work, give yourself six months (to start to build a decent credit rating) and then apply for a zero per cent credit card to switch some of your student debt to," he explained.
Earlier this week, the Post Office launched a new credit card that may appeal to many students across the UK.
The financial services provider's card boasts zero per cent interest on all products bought for the next three months.
