Financial services provider NatWest has unveiled details of a new flight reward scheme for its credit card customers, entitled YourPoints.
The credit card programme has been organised in tandem with budget airline easyJet and online travel agents ebookers.com and will be officially introduced in June 2007.
It means that every qualifying pound spent at either travel company will earn one point that can then be spent on arranging future easyJet flights or paying airport taxes.
This credit card scheme could then potentially save holidaymakers money that can then be diverted into more comprehensive travel insurance cover.
Alan Josephs, managing director of ebookers.com, commented on the merits of the project.
"YourPoints, driven by ebookers.com, is possibly the most innovative travel redemption scheme available today," he said.
"Customers will be able to choose from a vast range of airlines, hotels and car hire."
Earlier this week, the new eco-friendly Breathe credit card was launched by financial services provider Barclaycard.
Announcing the product, the credit card specialist announced that at least £1 million would be donated to environmental causes worldwide in the first year of the credit card.
